Happy October!!!
If you are following this month's blog hop, you should have came from

This month the theme is scrapbook pages.  I don't do much scrapbooking but when I do, I do enjoy it.
This time I get to do a scrapbook page for a ministry for Hope Chapel West O'ahu.
The ministry is called:
Bake A Blessing
They are a team of bakers and drivers who reach out to children/youth with a birthday cake made especially for them when they, due to circumstances, would not have one.

The pictures above are from another Do Something ministry from Hope Chapel called
Kids Rock
They are a team of volunteers who reach out to the children of the Pupu'ole community in
Waipahu.  They build relationships within this lower class community and lead the childred into a relationship with Jesus and help them grow in their faith.

The leadership team are so commpassionate for these kids it is reflected on the smiles on the children's faces.  Every other Saturday Kids Rock meets up at the community's park and they share the love of God.  They have been a ministry in this area for more than a year.

A.T.C.s {Artist Trading Cards}

Clever Girls

Holy Night
It's been forever since I've posted but here are two recent ATCs that I got to create.  I love the clever girls stamp sets.  These stamps are so versitile and I love the fact that I can play around with so many of A Muse Studio's inks!  The chalky inks cause the circles to look 3 dimensional and I love how it seems to pop off the page!

The second ATC, is Holy Night.  It was very simple, only two layers with a twinkle star but it speaks volumes.  I attend a bible college, New Hope Christian College on Oahu, Hawaii, and this represents my Heart and Art of worship class discussions.
In this day and age, many wise men and women still seek after Him.  Not only on major holidays like Christmas and Easter but everyday.
God shines the light so brightly that we see that light and search out for it.
The difference between doing good in life and becoming a Christian, is that one has God in their life!
A person can be a good person and do all the "right" things, but truely, is that enough?
No!!!
Jesus is the answer, not only on Christmas, but those days that truely counts: the day you loose a friend {in death or the relationship}; the moment your heart breaks; or even on those good days: the day your first {or second, or third, even} is born; the day you find "the one".
Knowing that God is in your life not only to guide you but to LOVE you...with all that you are,
THAT is the difference between a good person and a follower of Christ.

The bible is not a book of "Do's and Don'ts" but a book of LOVE and how in these stories God redeems the characters into a love relationship.

It's in this LOVE that a person finds peace and joy.  Happiness is only temporary.
Would you rather go by a temporary feeling or one that is deep and meaningful?

If you are reading this and have questions {about anything really...}
feel free to email me:

I will try to answer you the best of my ability or find the answer from someone who knows...

Ribbons A Plenty

with love
dets: all a|s~CS: bubble gum polka dot and sugar; Stamps: essential sentiments; Inks: memento black; Other: pretty pearls~ivory and bubble gum pink satin ribbon

A Muse Studio Challenge Blog

This week, our very own special Tobey's blog idea was to use ribbon.
I choose this because today while I was surfing the internet, I saw a meet up scheduled for this year's Susan G. Comen walk in October.  This is another reason I love pink so much.  I totally support the Breast Cancer outreaches.  I loved doing the walk in San Diego because they would close off the freeway just for the tens of thousands of people doing this walk.  It is so inspiring to see a sea of men, women, children and doggies in white and pink.

It is also in honor of my dear friend's mom who is a breast cancer survivor of over 10 years.  I still remember seeing her cry about how painful chemo was and what it was doing to her body.  Thank God that she lived thru that horrific time and I still pray for peace in her heart about it all.  This wonderful woman has been thru so much and I love her dearly.  She's always in my thoughts and prayers.

Be sure to leave some love/comments for the other ladies on the

Glittered Birthday

glittered birthday
dets: all A|S ~ CS: sugar and watermelon; Stamps: very merry un-birthday, celebrate in style, contemporary greetings;
Inks: bubblegum and memento black; Copics: B04, RV25, BG10, Y17, RV21.
So, I'm super excited to be among a group of fantastic consultants who are hosting the A Muse Studio Challenge Blog!  Each week, a consultant will post a challenge and will have a prize for that winner!  What a great way to work a challenge and get great prizes!

This week was Carla's turn and she challenged the use of  "glitter".  I am not a fan of glitter because it gets pretty messy and it ends up in my eyes.  Yep, I'm kind of a dork and somehow it ends up there.  Since I wear contacts, it hurts like heck.  ;p <<--that's me winking because I have glitter in my eyes.  So thanks, Carla!!!  Ha,ha,ha!  I'm just kidding. <3 luv ya, girl!
Although, I'm not a fan, doesn't mean that glitter is bad!  A Muse Studio has great glitter in wonderful colors!  I just need to learn how not to get it in my eyes...lol.  Carla, any useful tips will be great! ;p
The great thing about our glitter is the "warning".  On the side of the bottle it says: "we know our glitter looks yummy, but please don't eat it."  OMG, the staff at A|S has such a wonderful sense of humor!  I'm so blessed to be a part of an outstanding company!!!

This project was last minute and I had a brain fart.  I took a break to Starbucks with the BFF to clear my mind.  She was the one who came up with the idea to make a birthday card ... so here it is.
I sent her a picture message when I was done and her daughter said I completed it really fast.
That's because with A Muse Studio, it's easy, peasy!!!

Enjoy and Happy Stamping!

So I've been hanging out at SplitCoast Stampers and I'm really liking their challenges.  I've told myself that I really want to excel in my trade (cardmaking).  Participating in these challenges are a way to get my creative juices flowing and allows me to stretch myself.
At the lounge, we had a chance to call Lara to pratice our booking calls.  It was such a great idea and with a bonus: we get a stamp set ~ FOR FREE!!!
All we had to do is call.  It was on like Donkey Kong!  I did have to wait almost 45 minutes but it was well worth it.  Lara said I did a really good job *pats myself on the back* and she gave me lots of great tips! It was super fun!  I did say a lot of umms and wells.  I gotta practice not doing that.  It wasn't really well rehearsed, just kinda went with the flow.
I already had a stamp set in mind (clever girls-pg 55) but I had to ask if we could choose from the new catty.  OMG!!!  Now I can't decide!!!  lol...
I think I'm going to stick with my original choice.
I'm a clever girl by calling and doing a good job.

August Blog Hop

Summer Breeze
dets: all a|s unless stated: CS: sugar, sage, gingham: bubblegum, buttercup and sky;
Stamps: life's a breeze and a muse art stamps-heart line;
Inks: french roast, papaya, cranberry, and memento black; Other: yellow floss and green toothpick

Summer Love

"If you are participating in the blog hop, you should have come from Samantha's blog, and if not, then you should start from the beginning with Samantha's blog until you come to my blog.
 I'm second on the list.

This month we were asked to create a project on what summer means to me.  Summer reminds me of love and the beach.  Living in Hawaii, we get to go to the beach all year round but so much so in the summer with school out of session.  I don't have kids but I have a group of teens at my church who always talks about going to the beach during the summer.

The love of my life does not live on the islands, (by choice), so I wanted to make a card dedicated to him.  I wish he was here and so I made a special "mung and pung" chair set.
It's my version of "his & hers".
I love the gingham paper ~ I finally opened it up (from the starter kit) and had a chance to play with it. The colors and design are so pretty!

I went to my cousin's BKP 1st anniversary party and they performed their own version of
"Summer breeze".  BKP stands for Broke Kids Project.  It's a collaboration of teens (from our church) making music.  The music is not strictly christian music but a mix of their musical talents. I'm so proud of them, I wish I had a video from last night to show off.

I'll just settle for Jason Mraz's mix ~ Enjoy the video before you're off to your next stop!

Now on to your next stop Tamra Grandi's blog.

Happy Friday, blogworld!

Today I get a chance to participate in my first CAS-ual Friday!

click on picture to go to CAS-ual Friday blog

CAS-ual Friday challenges focuses on the "Clean and Simple" style of card making.  They embrace the white spaces and the simplicity of cards.  I love A Muse Studio products because they too love the clean and simple look.

My A Muse Studio business is off to a very good start and I want to be really good at what I do. What I challenged myself is to participate in challenges to let my creative juices flow and to get better at my trade.  These challenges are a great starting off point especially since I get to learn different techniques and go "out of the box".

For this challenge, we had to create a 4x9 card. I've never made a long and short card.  It took me a while to think of what I actually wanted to do. I even cut the cardstock wrong! It's okay tho.

Karen Baker's Critters of the sea was so cute, I had to force myself not to use the a|s whale in "keep swimmin'".

The cool thing about this challenge is that they have sponsors who gives away prizes.  Who can turn away from a chance to win cool stuff?  Bonus ~ Sweet!!! This week is Lawn Fawn, a company that sells cute clear polymer stamps.  The winner wins a $25 gift certificate from their company.  Check out their website:

Talk about awesome sauce!

Happy TGIF, everyone and keep stamping!

The girls at Studio Stampers have a challenge blog for a|s products. They have weekly stuido stars and they host different challenges.  This week the star is Kathy Hatzke and her technique challenge is ~ Masking.  This may be the first technique I learned from Jill Grace
It is a great way to add dimension and depth.
I was having a difficult time using the Harloquin Background.  It's so huge that it didn't apply all the way.  Am I missing something?  Is there an easier way to stamp a large background?  Help anyone?

Well, enjoy the other consultant's work!  Stop by and leave the others comments, we would love it!

1st a|s workshop!

6.26.2011 4pm
my 1st A Muse Studio workshop!

It was a fun, creative, and relaxing day of a|s cardmaking!  The attendees were my sister, bff, and my bff's 11 yr old daughter. They were both beginner stampers, so they needed more time to learn the basics.  I may have been a little tough on the basics, but they fell in love with all the techniques that were taught.  All 5 of the cards that they made turned out so pretty and creative!  We masked, paper pierced, used copics, and used embelishments.  They were both worn out by the end of the night! :)

Guest book comments:

VM (the bff):
"Fun workshop! Very simple; thought it would've been hard but nos so.  Got to be creative. Easy to follow.  Very fun! Thank you! :)"

SSA (the sister):
"It was fun and great. made all these cards was great for the first time... =)"

AVV (the bff's 11 yr old daughter):
"I liked doing it!  I love being creative.  Thank you!!! :0"

Thanks for making my first workshop a huge success!

From 2002 till 2008, I got to work with great fun people at Financial 21 Community Credit Union.  Today, the company merged with California Coast Credit Union and a few of them stuck around.  Most of us went our separate ways but thanks to Facebook, I can "see" them all the time.

Today's card is for my special assistant manager...

The cookie has spoken

I learned about "how to read a fortune cookie the right way" lol.... My sister taught me this when I lived in Cali...whatever your fortune says, you say "in bed" to complete it.
 It cracks me up everytime!!!

I jumped at the opportunity to buy A Muse's Fortune Cookie Word set when it first came out.
Thanks to Papertales in SD!
I love that store...my Cali friends be sure to say hello to Michelle if you stop by!
Too bad A Muse Studio does not have this set in their catalog yet....

Happy Father's Day!

These cards were inspired by A Muse's Creative Consultant's Ready to Roll Workshops (RTRW) so I made two cards-a Father's day card and a Happy Birthday one that I'll be using in my workshops.
